We think about how technology reaches people.

Building on our work to widen digital access and support local communities,
we treat the impact a service creates as an important project consideration.

Good technology also creates the opportunity to use it.

Building complex features does not by itself give technology its value. We also need to ask who needs it, whether people can use it in real conditions, and whether it can carry on after the build.

As a social venture that solves social problems with technology, KPS has researched and developed technology that serves the public good. In 2019, we were designated a preliminary social enterprise by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. We look for services where public value and business sustainability work together.

Certifications and designations are listed as of the date obtained.

Our community contributions so far

We have supported neighbors and communities with limited digital access through education, support, and donations.

Digital reading room support

We installed digital reading room software in public libraries free of charge and provided maintenance.

ForLocal access to public information

IT & coding education for children

We provided free IT career education and coding classes to underserved children at daycare centers.

ForChildren who need experience with digital technology

Digital education for seniors

We provided free digital literacy education to digitally underserved seniors.

ForSeniors adapting to digital tools in daily life

Community donation

To help overcome COVID-19, we joined the local community in donating to the Korean Red Cross.

Social issues we have tackled with technology

We have used our own technology on projects that ease everyday worries, such as children’s safety and preventing illegal filming.

Children’s safety

Wearable for predicting infant safety risks (IoT)

Using a child’s vital-sign data to detect risky situations early so guardians can check on the child

KPS’s role
Developing a wearable device that collects vital-sign data and predicts risky situations, and a vital-sign monitoring application

Preventing illegal filming

Inspection and management platform for hidden-camera detection zones

Managing detection activity zones and inspection records together, as part of a social-enterprise program to prevent illegal filming

KPS’s role
Developing an integrated platform that connects an on-site inspection log app with a map of detection activity and high-risk areas

Three principles we carry into our projects

Accessible technology

We consider differences in usage environments and digital skills to design experiences more people can use.

Technology that keeps running

Beyond a one-time build, we look at structures and management practices that let a service keep being used and improved in the real world.

Responsible technology

When working with data and AI, we propose a scope with a clear purpose, permissions, and review steps.

Let’s build services that fit people
and the way they work.

Tell us about your users and their circumstances, and we’ll design with you from accessibility through to operations.
